OLED and VFD displays each offer different characteristics. In the example shown, Winstar’s standard OLED character WEH01602A series and a popular VFD 16*2 character module demonstrate how these similar parts compare and contrast on view angle. Comparison results:

• Viewing Angle:
  • OLED >175: OLED has wider viewing angles because the emitting area is the entire front surface
  • VFD >160: Because the VFD display surface is placed in a deeper position, the sealing frames and the grid frames make the viewing angles smaller

Winstar Display PM OLED displays have passed independent 3rd party laboratory testing to prove their OLED lifetime exceeds 100K hours.    

"The test specimen we used is the model WEH001602A yellow color. Test environment condition is 25 C ± 10C; the relative humidity is 60±20% RH. End of lifetime definition is specified as 50% checker board of initial brightness reached. The test initial brightness is 400 nits without polarizer. The test result is using a high temperature at 80 C ageing test to calculate the operation lifetime estimation."

In addition, Winstar Display has recently received ISO 14001 and TS16949 certification. ISO14001 is an environmental compliance certification and TS16949 is the American automotive quality standard.
